Pupils across Surrey welcomed Freddy the Fox to last year's Golden Boot Challenge when he visited them to help choose green ways of travelling to school.

First launched in 2002, the Golden Boot Challenge is part of Surrey County Council's Safe Routes to Schools initiative and this year's campaign is the biggest and the best yet. Pupils score points when they:
Walk
Cycle
Car Share Or Park 'n' Stride
Scoot or skateboard
Use The Bus, Train or Taxi ...
To Win The Golden Boot Trophy!Over the four-week campaign, the class in each school with the most points wins the coveted Golden Boot trophy. We collect the resources and, during June, use them make a detailed analysis of all the modes of transport used, with the results sent back to schools before the end of term.
